HOTEL, VENUE AND TRAVEL INFORMATION
Location: Whistler, British Columbia
Hotel and Conference Venue: Fairmont Chateau Whistler
The conference will be held at the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
Conference attendees also should plan to stay at the Fairmont, where discounted room rates for edX Global Forum attendees have been secured.
Please note that discounted room rates of $209-$239 CAD extend for three days before and after the event. You can book these extra days via the above link.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TRAVELING TO WHISTLER
The recommended airport is Vancouver International Airport (YVR), which is 2+ hours from Whistler.
Please use Ridebooker to secure your ground transportation between YVR and the Whistler resort, as this is the preferred method of transportation for our event. In winter, the road to Whistler requires snow tires, which many rental cars do NOT have. For this reason, we recommend the Ridebooker bus shuttle service.
How to book: Once you have your flights, click on the Ridebooker link. Attendees should hit the "book now" button and add their specific flight information to secure transportation to and from YVR directly to the resort. Payment for this service can also be made via this link.
To participate in the full list of events, we suggest this travel schedule for edX Global Forum attendees:
- Monday, 4 December: Fly into Vancouver; secure Ridebooker from YVR to Whistler
- Tuesday, 5 December: Conference day 1 (8:00am start; includes evening event)
- Wednesday, 6 December: Conference day 2 (full conference day; includes evening event until 8:00pm)
- Thursday, 7 December: Secure Ridebooker from Whistler to YVR; fly out of Vancouver
*For those attending pre-meetings on 4 December or edX training on 7-8 December, you should adjust your travel accordingly.
Adding extra days?
